Join us for a three hour foraging course collecting edible wild mushrooms in an area of stunning private woodland, learning to safely identify edible and poisonous species and getting to understand how these amazing organisms protect, regulate and manage the forest eco system.
The aim of these workshops is to provide a solid foundation of knowledge.
You'll learn what mushrooms are and how they grow, how we can forage them sustainably and safely and will be able to confidently identify and forage at least a few varieties of edible mushroom after your session. Freya, our guide for this experience, is renowned as the ultimate forager and a true master of the natural world. With an innate connection to the countryside, Freya's keen eye and acute senses enable her to spot hidden flora, fauna, and edible treasures that elude most others. Her knowledge of plants, mushrooms, and herbs is encyclopaedic, and she can identify even the rarest species with confidence.
Freya's foraging prowess not only provides her with sustenance, but also fuels her passion for sharing her discoveries with others, leading workshops like this to impart her wisdom.
We'll finish our walk around the New Forest with a homemade foraged snack bar and drink.
